Peace begins with you...

Peace begins with you...

Peace is personal.
Take it in, give it thought.
Peace begins with you, in you.
It lives or dies in
the language you use,
the reactions you have to insult,
and the programs you sponsor.
Your actions create a
living legacy for humankind.
You cannot separate yourself
from the quest for peace.
You are responsible.

I wrote this post in support of my friend, and guest host this week, Catalina Egan.   Catalina's 'Peace Blitz' blog tour focuses on peace, and on an event, that possibly impacted world peace, that she explores in her book, The Bridge of Deaths.   Please, take the tour today, read more about her book, and the thought-provoking posts of some of the tour participants.  I pray you will take in the message that peace begins with you.

Thank you so much for your comment at Scarlett Rains Sisters of the Hearts Blog. Every comment is read and appreciated. Don't forget to subscribe either by RSS feed or by email . Hope to see you again soon!

  3. I agree with what you had to say about peace. It does come from within!

    1. That is the hardest message for folks to take in. It makes an individual defensive to accept responsibility.

  4. Love this! So very true--peace begins within each individual. Will we burn bridges or build them with our thoughts and actions? So glad I stopped in!

  5. Good Sunday morning, Scarlett. I have been too-long away, and dropped in to tell you that I've tried to make amends by featuring you as my Site of the Week, and found you poem on peace. If you visit the Hideout, you're invited to read my views on the subject, one post back on the blog list; they're much in line with yours... Well, this is not entirely a shameless plug. Hopefully things calm down here, and I can be a bit more regular in my visits. Meanwhile, all the best to you, and keep up your wonderful work!

  6. Dear Scarlett, You and I have many things in common and I would like to think we can be good friends. I thank the Lord that he brought you through the really tough times and look at you. You are a beautiful woman inside and out. Thank you so much for your walk, your message and your loving attitude.

  7. It's a very true poem, but how do we get others to realize that?

Folks who are kind enough to nominate me for blog awards and such, thank you so much, but...please, don't. I barely have time to comb my hair. :)
